Where Is the True Church of God?

“Where is the true one?”

Atheism is growing in numbers. Yes, it is growing across the globe.

Church attendance also is in decline and many people are giving their full-time to secular work, recreation and love life, and it seems good enough if he/she has a minute of conversation with God. The prophetic lines of the psalms of David are now fulfilling,

God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

Everyone of them is gone back; they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” (Psalms 53:2-3)

One of the primary reasons that makes people to cease from looking for truth lies upon the popping out of various religious denominations with various theological views but have the same claim of being the true Church founded by God. Being confused and exhausted from false hopes that their churches promised to them in exchange of their intense physical, mental, and financial devotion to its cause, people decided to stop the quest for truth. While ministers and pastors are becoming more wealthy, church members were left into dissatisfaction and despair, until they decided to take no more time for religion which they regarded as foolishness.

Falsehood is a deadly virus that arising today and kills the spiritual life of a person. The Bible speaks the truth, and it tells about the true Church. But the truth that was being said in the Bible was covered by the clouds of falsehood that arising today. Ephesians 5:2 says;

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”

Christ is the savior of the body which is the Church.  But where is that Church that He’s going to save? Is it among those more than forty-two thousand Christian  denominations now registered in different parts of the globe? Founded by those people who said to be called by God to restore humanity unto Him? The Holy Scriptures speaks clearly;

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” (Psalms 127:1)

Logically speaking, every house has builders. And these builders are their owners. In the Bible, God has His own, too. And of course, He was the builder of His own house. What then is the house of God?

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (I Timothy 3:15)

The house of God is His Church; the Church which was headed by His begotten Son, Jesus Christ. So, those denominations claiming to be of God but ruled and headed not by Christ but by their founders are false and deceptions.  To consider a church to be of God, it must be built by God. “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.”, according to the Bible. Hence, if a particular Church was built by man, it’s considered nothing.

Then, where is the true Church of God in our time that those people who really care for the truth will finally take their rest from this quest? How do we able to identify if such Church is the real one or it’s just one of those vain churches scattered all over the surface of the earth? Apostle Paul said;

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.” (I Corinthians 12:28)

Of course, we are speaking of those true apostles of God, true prophets, true teachers of the gospel, true miracles, true gifts of healing, true government of the gospel, etc. These elements were installed only in the true Church. And where is that true Church? Obviously speaking, that was the Church built by Christ more than 2000 years ago in Jerusalem. Other than that Church, there’s no truth. And don’t be deceived by some preachers of religion saying that the Church founded in Jerusalem was already apostatized or fallen or destroyed. The Lord Jesus Christ has a promise, saying;

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:28-29)

The true Church will never perish but it will stand until the day of judgement. It will remain a light unto the world and vessel of truth that will enlighten the world in the midst of its darkest days. Christ was its founder, so we should not think that it will fall as a house built in the midst of sand. In it, all that will be saved shall be baptized. But how we will be part of it? How we will have fellowship with those members of the Church founded 2000 years ago, like the apostles? is it possible? Of course, it is possible. John said;

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;…
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.” (I John 1:1,3-4)

“The Church endured spiritually, and the Bible is the only access to that Church.”

To be part of the only true Church where God put His elected apostles, John said, “that which we have seen and heard (the word of life) declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us.” Through faith with those words they declared in their epistles and letters, man may have fellowship with the true Church. We don’t need to see the apostles personally, or return to their age literally. We can become members of the Church founded in Jerusalem by simply upholding with those words preached by the apostles. We don’t need to look for those churches claiming to be the restoration of the 2000 years old Church because nothing was restored. The Church endured spiritually, and the Bible is the only access to that Church.

The reason why so many religious people ended into infidelity after a long long time of quest for truth lies to the fact that they look for truth with those churches or organizations built by human in our time, rather than seek it in the Holy Scriptures which is the sole record of all godly truth specially about the Church of God. Thus, everyone who seek the truth should return to the Bible. This is the only access that will connect us to the only true Church founded more than 2000 years ago in Jerusalem.

  1. So no churches are correct, and the only way to find access to the true church is through the Bible. You do realize that the Bible is the foundation of every Christian denomination, right? I mean, by your logic, as long as there is no leadership, every church that searches the Bible is correct.

    Fine, let’s even pretend that they’re all corrupted. A new church arises. A guy decides that the only way to be a part of the true church of God is to read and study the Bible. He decides to share this with his friends. Over the years, thousands join the movement. No one gets paid, there are no rules or commandments to follow except for those found in the Bible. Congregations literally read the Bible in the same room and discuss how they feel closer to Christ, and then leave.

    Does this fit your model of the true church, or is it still corrupted and of man, not inspired by God, and therefore has no goodness or truth?

  2. The model Church was the one depicted in the Bible. But we don’t need to establish another Church apart from what had been established in Jerusalem. All we need is to have fellowship or be part of that Church.

  3. I have been learning about the true church for 40 years. Here’s a website that is a start http://prayer_child.tripod.com The main point is to do what Jesus did, not follow Paul’s disobediences of Jesus’ rules. But it goes deeper, you must pray for the true church until you obtain His agreement in Spirit to own and build it or even the most pure hearted prayer will result in a failure according to Psalms 127:1 and my own experience.

    • Greetings.

      The true Church is already established. Sealed by His blood, Jesus Christ promised that the Church will never ever perished until His return. This was the reason why He commanded the remaining apostles to make more disciples. There was already a group of apostles after the Ascension of Christ, so this few was given the command to propagate the message of salvation in order to increase their number. What I mean to say is, no need to look or established another. The Church is already established and its doctrines were written in the Bible. All we need to do is to make ourselves part of this Church. How? By clinging to their message…. By believing to their gospel… by upholding the gospel they preached. Again it was said,

      That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
      (I John 1:1,3-4

      The fellowship of the true believers will be found 2000 years ago in Jerusalem but no matter how great the distance of time between our age and their age, we can still be part of that fellowship by the way John tells in His epistle. Going back to the question, where are the real members of that Church in our time? Of course, they flocked themselves with the teachings exactly the same with their brethren in the Bible.

      • Really? Where are these true believers who are turning water into wine, healing the sick, raising the dead, doing all of Jesus’ miracles, and greater works like He promised? If there is not yet any believers doing what Jesus did as it appears, then it’s not a church but at best a Bible club, and more likely a Rev. 17:5 prostitute which Jesus tells us to leave in Rev. 18:4.

        So at present, unless you know of such people actually doing what Jesus did, the true church only exists in Spirit overlaid on the hearts of men in spite of their denominations which God commands them to leave.

      • Your question is wrong brother. Healing the sick, raising the dead, and doing more miracles are not the way we can connect with the true Church. John’s statement is enough…

        That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
        (I John 1:1,3-4

        To be part of that fellowship with the apostles, the Father, and Jesus Christ, accepting the message they gave is the only requirement. Even Christ never taught that doing miracles is the basis of truth, but in fact, such practices, according to Him, will become the machinery of Satan to deceive (Matthew 24:24). And because Satan will never direct us into the apostolic gospel, therefore it is to this gospel that we must look upon.

        Now, God never asked His people to make miracles as what His Son did, but He commissioned them for something more important than doing miracles. God said,

        “…to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward.
        Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day
        :” (Isaiah 58:6-10)

        These are the works of Christ remember? and these are the same things He expects from us. He said;

        “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
        To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:18-19)

        And then in Matthew, He said;

        For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
        Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
        Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
        When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
        Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
        And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
        ” (Matthew 25:35-40)

        Greater than miracles, these works are what Christ expected from us when He said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” (John 14:12)

      • No brother, that’s not what I’m trying to say.. Don’t worry, I will set a time to tackle this witness lee. I hope that your quest for truth is continuing.

  4. The body of christ need to come back. Everything we r practising nowadays is rubish. The early apostles turn d world upside down but nowadays we r nt turning anytin.the church is not building, it is d gathering of saints. People with one mind and one focus.weed need radical christian like d apostles.

  5. Free spirit can u tell me more about the true church bcos am tired of the state of the body of chist.i have the ministry of help and i want to no how it will be useful in the true church.

    • The ministry of help is a natural part of the true Church. It is a prime factor to show before the world the goodness of God which is manifesting through His children. That ministry of yours must be connected to the Church, which is the one that operates every work of saving lives to God. The true Church is not a cathedral or a wealthy organization. The true Church is the one established by Christ more than two thousand years ago that still has followers today who can be identified because they are following the written principles of Christ and His apostles.
