Christ and the Perpetuity of the Law

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”  (Ecclesiastes 12:12-13)

Many religious people today claim that they are true Christians, yet these people are foremost in spreading some errors condemned by the Bible or not biblical in its nature. Strange kind of gospel has been introduced in this age which aim is to destroy the credibility of the word of God and His reputation as an infallible God. Often that His goodness was mis-interpreted by the religious preachers thus church members are becoming too old and passed without knowing the fullness of God’s will. One of the prominent false teachings today is denying of the importance of the Law of God; a teaching declaring that since we are in the period of God’s grace and that faith is essential to attain salvation, Christians doesn’t need the Law of God anymore. By misquoting biblical texts, these preachers indoctrinate the people on how to attain salvation without emphasizing the importance of God’s law in their life. Hence, God declared in His words, “I am profaned among them”.

A government without law is dull. The ruler rules absolutely according to his desire, and the people act the same as the ruler. But God is a God of order, and He don’t want His people to live in a harmful freedom that today’s preachers are actually injecting to their flock. God’s law is the foundation of His government not only on earth but originally in heaven. Christ in His prayer declared;

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-10)

The law of God is the will of God. David said; ” I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.” (Psalms 40:8). When we invited Christ in our heart, the same way we are letting the government of His Father to rule within us, and as David said, we should be delighted to do His law.

Many Evangelicals and Born-Again preachers are using the argument that God’s law is so much difficult to fulfill. They ignorantly say that no one can fulfill the law since everyone is a sinner, hence Christ came into the flesh to fulfill what His people cannot fulfill, and by faith alone in Him, we are becoming partakers to what He fulfilled. Then they finally declare, “We don’t need the Law or do any good work in order to attain salvation. Faith alone is the key to salvation”. Oh my friends! These are definitely lies. John the Beloved stated in his letter;

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” (I John 5:3)

The commandments of God are not grievous unlike what false preachers taught. In fact, it is the duty of man to fear God and keep His commandments. First of all, He created us and loved us. The love of God persuades us to follow His commandments, because by following His commandments we are preserving the life He had given to us. Ignoring the law of God is ignoring the Creator, and making ourselves nonsense. Secondly, there will be a judgement and we will be judged according to our deeds whether it be good or evil.

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”  (Ecclesiastes 12:12-13)

Many people misinterpreted the law as grievous and impossible to be fulfilled. It is because the law is of spirit and many people are of flesh. No way that flesh will satisfy the law neither anything that belongs to spirit. God knows it, so He made an extraordinary thing enable the people to fulfill what the law states. Of course, He will never give any commandment that impossible for man to obey. God is the Provider and He is also the Sustainer. He gave the law and He provides the way to fulfill it. No one can fulfill the law, unless he will be directed by God. Paul said;

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (Romans 8:3-5)

By faith in Christ, we are all resurrected into spirit  from being dead in the sinful flesh. And now that Christians are resurrected as children of God in the spirit, we can now walk according to the spirit, according to the law which is of the spirit. Christ is not against the law neither He came to abolish the law. He came to establish the law and to seal it by the His precious blood.  Jesus Christ stated,

 “Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven”. (Matthew 5: 19)

Paul said, “For the wages of sin is death” and “sin is the transgression of the law.” (Rom.6:23; I John 3:4) All people have sinned so we must die according to the law. But Christ came into the flesh, putting all our sins unto Himself and died in our stead. The death of our Lord shows the immutability of the law; it shows how powerful are the words written in the law. Now that Christ freed us from the curse of the law because of our own transgressions, we can now freely walk into a new form of life, a life saved from the wages of our past transgressions. Is it mean that the effectiveness of the law lost its ground? God forbid. John said, “sin is the transgression of the law”, so the existence of sin signifies the existence of the law. Thus Paul declared in his epistle;

” Let not sin (transgression of the law) therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans 6:12-16)

God never gave us the license to sin or to transgress the law after we had saved from it. Why? Because if we sin, we are placing again ourselves as slaves of what we are doing. We are freed, so we should not go back to those sins that enslaved us in the past. We’re already freed so we can now freely turn ourselves as slaves of God’s righteousness. In short, a man who had been freed from sins, from the curse of the law, and now placed under the power of God’s grace is a person who walks away from making sins. He doesn’t kill, he doesn’t worship idols, he doesn’t steal, he doesn’t covet, he doesn’t lie, he doesn’t commit adultery, and if there’s anything that can separate him from God, he walks away from it. A person who had been saved from sins is a person who walk harmoniously with the commandments of God as what King David said, “Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.” (Psalms 119:115.  And again, John  the Beloved said;

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law…

 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God“(I John 3: 4,8-9).

The Gospel That Gives License To Sin

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12)

Yes. I’m already saved.“, this was the bold reply of a friend of mine when I asked her about salvation, seeming that she received a limitless passport  to heaven on the day she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Carmela, that friend of mine, was just one of those people who have been planted by this kind of false hope as they listen to the preaching of some Born Again and Evangelical pastors who made salvation as a simple statement of mouth.

Like her, many Born Again and Evangelical members believe that in order to be saved, the only thing which we should do is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior by faith. And once you accepted Him through faith, you have now an assured salvation in heaven. No need of good works or following the commandments of God, but through faith alone, we will be saved according to them.

Sorry to say this, but I think this kind of belief is not just unbiblical but shameful, careless and dirty in its entire content. Imagine a person who thinks he was already saved and destined to heaven no matter what he will do, whether he do evil or not. Remember what happened in LA Fitness Gym in Pennsylvania on August 4, 2009? When a man named George Sodini fired 50 rounds into an aerobic class before turning the gun on himself. The shooting resulted four deaths (including Sodini himself) and nine injured. George Sodini was a member of the Tetelestai Church where he sat quietly for many years, listening to the deceptions of his preacher. Talking about the pastor of his Church, Sodini wrote in his blog dated Dec. 31, 2008,

this guy” (Alan “Rick” Knapp) “teaches (and convinced me) you can commit mass murder then still go to heaven. Ask him.

And in a post dated August 3, 2009, Sodini said;

“Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for every sin, so how can I or you be judged by GOD for a sin when the penalty was already paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them.

Excerpt From Sodini's Blog

After the horrible incident in Pennsylvania, Pastor Knapp’s deacon, Jack Rickard commented on Sodini’s death and said;

“George is going to heaven, but he’s not going to get his rewards,” (SOURCE )

Kenneth Nally, another believer of this unscrupulous doctrine, committed suicide in 1980 after he was taught that even self-murder would not stop a person once saved from going to heaven. Definitely! This kind of belief would reclaim many people to Satan, the author of all lies and abominations.

I also remembered a certain time when I tried to ask a Born Again pastor who preaches about the assured salvation. I asked him, “Pastor. If doing good works is unnecessary for salvation so that I decided to cease from giving my tithes, am I still saved?”  The pastor answered and said, “Definitely not, son. If you will cease from giving your tithes and offerings, you will become a robber, because the Bible said, ‘ye rob God’.” See??? Born Again and many Baptist and Evangelical pastors who hold this kind of shameful doctrine are just after to our tithes! They don’t care about our salvation. They don’t care whether we will become evil or not, but what matters most is our money. They telling their members that in salvation, good works are unnecessary things, except the giving of tithes and donations!

Born Again and Baptist preachers founded this kind of unscrupulous belief by misunderstanding the Pauline text mentioned in Ephesians, where it says;

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9)

If we will meticulously read the verses, which many illogical Evangelical and Baptists preachers misunderstood, we will notice that the salvation mentioned here by Paul was written in past tense, signifying that this kind of salvation was already a past experience. What was that experience? From what they were saved? In verse 5 it says;

Even when we were dead in sinshath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Before they became Christians, believers in Ephesus are chained in darkness and in sins. They are pagans and victims of evil rulers of darkness. Paul said; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. (verse 12). From this state, they were saved. Since they are in darkness of ignorance, and that they don’t any knowledge about the truth, of course, they don’t need to work to be saved. In the first place, what kind of work they must do if they were ignorant about truth? Any work done outside the truth means personal works and personal righteousness, and these are the works that are unnecessary to be saved from sins. Salvation from sin is a gift from God. It is through faith alone and no need of any work SINCE they are ignorant about the truth. Thus, Paul stated;

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Sadly to say, many Evangelical pastors mis-interpreted the Ephesian texts. They neglected to read the following verses that would defy their careless interpretation. Paul said;

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (v.10)

From the power of darkness and sins, people are transferred into the kingdom of the Son in light through the grace of God. Paul said,

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.(Colossians 1:12,13)

And again,

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (Ephesians 5:8)

Now that we are in the light, we should not make ourselves idle. We must work with God. We must work in the light where we were translated. Paul said to Timothy;

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works; (II Timothy 3:16,17)

We cannot do anything for God if we are still in darkness. And everything we will do to save ourselves, without the workings of God in our lives, are all in vain. But God translated us into the light of His Son so that we will able to work for salvation. This same experience happened to the Ephesians after they were saved from sins. The book of Revelation declared unto them;

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Revelations 2:2-5)

Paul himself testified that Christians must not let themselves to become idle. He said in his epistle;

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (II Timothy 6-8)

Christians should finish their course. We should do our assignments. Unless we finished the track prepared before us by God, we will never receive the crown of life that awaits us in heaven.

Before I end this article, I’m challenging all pastors who preach about the assured salvation. Prove to me that Paul was mistaken when he said;

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12)

And for Christians, particularly those who had been deceived by false salvation that Born Again and Evangelical pastors preached to you, READ YOUR BIBLE. Discover the deepest part of salvation taught by the gospel. Do not be lazy, and do not let these pastors of hell to exploit your pockets and then finally bring you into perdition.

Who Is the Liar?

 “Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist,”

I John 2:22

"On August 19, 2005 – at exactly 12:00 noon on a Friday, the same day and hour that Jesus was crucified – Benedict XVI arrived at the Jewish Synagogue and then took active part in a Jewish worship service. Along with John Paul II’s 1986 visit to the Synagogue, this was certainly one of the most scandalous events in human history – the alleged leader of the Christian Church, after the promulgation of the Gospel, traveling to the Jewish Synagogue (the Temple of those who reject the Messiah), taking part in their worship ceremony, and thus attempting to validate the Jewish religion."

When Cardinal Arturo Medina Estevez, the Cardinal-priest of San Saba, began to announce the election of the new pope with the famous Habemus Papam, a great sound of joy from the throng that flocked before the St. John Lateran suddenly burst upon the air. The joy that buried for a short but painful period of loss of the one whom the world regarded as the “man of the century” was finally broken as the Vatican revealed the name of their new head bishop. Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger, the subject of this Catholic rejoice, was named Benedict XVI as he assumed the papacy as the 265th pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

Joseph Ratzinger, as Cardinal, was the most influential Catholic churchman before and after the death of John Paul II. On November 1981 he was named as the Head or the Cardinal-Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, formerly known as the Office of the Holy Inquisition, the authority that decides all Catholic teachings. Being the head of this congregation, Ratzinger is the most important voice for interpreting the doctrines of his Church and he make sure that they were upheld – fitted enough to be called as “the right hand of the pope”. During this year, Ratzinger authored number of books that displayed the kind of theology that brought this man into the position of honor above the rest of his fellow cardinals. Some of his books contained his views regarding the Lord Jesus Christ, and perhaps, if Catholic faithfuls will have the opportunity to read these writings along with deep understanding to what are contained here, they will notice something is happening wrong.

In 2001, the Pontifical Biblical Commission released a book entitled The Jewish People And Their Sacred Scriptures in the Christian Bible. This was authored by the one who presently rules the Vatican. According to this book,

According to this Vatican book which was authored by the presently called Benedict XVI, Christians can and ought to admit that the Jewish reading of the Bible is a possible one! What a statement from the one who professed to be the Lord’s representative! This is anti-christ. A same denial of Christ was also written in a book “God And the World, also authored by Ratzinger. In page 209 says;

God and the World p.209

The quotation above is perfectly against the teachings of Christ Himself which says; “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” (John 5:39) And in verse 45 and 46 it says; “Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. ” But Benedict XVI stated that all these words might be wrong. And again in the same book, God and the World, he continues…

God and the World page 151

This is a total rejection of the biblical teaching that Christ is the only way to salvation both for the Jews and Gentiles.

Uttering blasphemous things is already a trademark of the papacy. This was not only foretold by the Biblical prophecies  but historically, speaking of blasphemy conjoining with the display of pomp and influence made the papal institution to survive for more than a thousand and a half years. If people will only be taught to submit themselves into the authority of the gospel that was written in the Holy Scriptures, millions of Catholics around the world will clearly see that what the world glorifies is an abomination unto the Lord.

Benedict XVI is the 256th in the line of the history’s renowned blasphemous religious leaders. And as the Bible declared that the world loved darkness rather than light, he was welcomed by a tumultuous shouts of joy and heart-warming applause from the Catholic throng and once more, Jesus Christ was profaned in the midst of the humanity that He wants to be saved.

Bro. Eddie and His True Master

“No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”  (Luke 16:13)

According to his official website,

But Bro. Eddie is beyond his spiritual preoccupations. Apart from being a deeply spiritual man with strong moral convictions and high ethical principles, he is most of all a Filipino who loves his country and his people and a man who is committed to leading the transformation of the Philippines into a prosperous and respectable nation through the Bagong Pilipinas, Bagong Pilipino Movement which he also heads. ” (

Eddie Villanueva, the Leader of Jesus Is Lord Church

Perhaps, his desire to “serve the country” is the foremost reason that pushed Eddie Villanueva, the Founder and Spiritual Director of Jesus Is Lord Church, to join the past national elections particularly presidential elections. Though disappointed from his previous candidacies, Mr. Villanueva was totally determined to enter into the political sphere like what has been declared to his vision. But what would be the end of this political ambitions? What are the things that he can do both for God and for the nation? As a man who professed to be a Bishop of the ministry that he propagates, how possible that Eddie Villanueva will serve his two masters at the same time? Or is it possible that he will forsake one for the sake of the other one?

According to the Holy Scriptures,

No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”  (Luke 16:13)

The experience of Mr.Eddie Villanueva is the perfect example to prove the truthfulness of what Christ had said. His determination to join within the atmosphere of the politics in the Philippines shows what are the real desire that lies in the heart of the JIL’s head bishop.  It shows what really the priority of his service, his ministry or his ambition. According to Apostle Paul;

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”  (Acts 20:24)

For a true minister who was called by God into the ministry of His grace, nothing will be prioritized except the reason of his calling, that even his own life is not worthy to give up the ministry that he received. In the experience of Mr. Villanueva as the Bishop of his Church and as the head and representative of the “Bangon Pilipinas Movement”, we never seen the meaning of what Paul had said, but the clear view that a preacher cannot serve two masters at the same time. During the past presidential election, Mr. Villaneva have this statement;

As I accept the challenge to lead the movement, I make one painful if not agonizing sacrifice,” he said. “To be able to better and effectively execute the leadership role for the movement, I am taking a leave of absence as a pastor of the Jesus is Lord Church.”

He said the Council of Leaders of the Jesus Is Lord Worldwide Movement officially released him from his ecclesiastical duties last Feb. 7 “so that I may concentrate on the transformation of our beloved nation.” (, Posted March 29,2009)

This message clearly shows that Eddie Villanueva is not in harmony with the views of the true messengers in the Holy Scriptures.  He knows what are the effects or the consequences that will possibly happen against his ministry if he endeavor to join the politics in the country, but the bishop boldly accepted the consequences though it affects his own credibility as a preacher of his message. According to Mr. Villanueva,  “This world is to poor to buy my convictions on the principles of truth, justice and righteousness.” But what really the meaning of righteousness and truth for him? Is it based upon the principles that had read from the Bible or is it based only on his ambitions to gain a high post in worldly politics? After he confessed in an interview conducted by one of the Philippine’s best newscaster, Mike Enriquez, that he was a true catholic and a cursillista , Mr. Villanueva again made a horrible statement when he visited the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Quiboloy’s Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name Above Every Name. Mr. Apollo Quiboloy is one of the many influential religious leaders in the Philippines who says that he is the Son of God. (Click here)

Though it was recorded during the past presidential election campaign  in the Philippines, this period should not be a reason for him to destroy those matters concerning the salvation of souls. The previous election became a trap that exposed the real intent of this professed man of God – the intention to use the religion for his personal worldly ambitions. If he denied the truth by commending a false ministry, how much more the nation that he aspired to lead.  Servicing the people as well as God at the same time is not a sin or an evil act if we will not compromise the truth and harm the cause of God. The true service that a preacher can do for the people is to bring out the nation from the bondage of deception and lies and not to let them remain within the bonds of false hope that are being spread in the society by those evil preachers of religion like what Eddie Villanueva did when he visited the false messiah’s group.

It is clearly seen in this video that Mr. Villanueva not only lowered his credibility as a man and as a preacher, but he also invited the wrath of God to fall upon him. II Chronicles 19:2 stated;

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

A Failed “Angel”?

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

(Matthew 12:33)

Have you ever heard the claim that Felix Manalo, the founder of the most influential and powerful non-Catholic religious organization in the Philippines, was an angel?

Yes! That is a famous belief among the members. Manalo, accordingly, was the angel of the east as prophesied by Revelations chapter 7, the one who will put seal upon the servants of God before the symbolic winds would strike the Earth. But have you ever heard also that once in the history of the Iglesia ni Cristo, Manalo decided to abandon the Church and excommunicate all the members? Well, this fact was documented in a circular letter to the Church dated on July 25, 1938 signed by Teodoro Santiago, one of the 14 students during Manalo’s first batch of ministerial class; one of the three ministers ordained during the first ordination presided by Manalo (the other two being Justino Casanova and Federico Inocencio), and the first Division Minister/Administrator of the Church, assigned in Pampanga division in 1924. “Circular No. 19 – Series 1938

“July 25, 1938

“I appeal to you in this letter and inform you of the happenings that we did not expect to come. Brother Manalo wants to abandon us and he would like to start anew. More certainly, meaning we shall all be excommunicated, and he shall begin to dedicate a new ministry. The reason for this is the misbehavior of the present Ministers. First, what brother Andres Tucker did, which is truly grave in his heart, is that wherever he was assigned the frauds and deceits and borrowing of money from brethren was extreme, that according to him, the Church is becoming an instrument of a filthy lifestyle.

“What grieves him about the brethren, even though he prohibited the borrowing and lending [of money] it is not being kept, that in this manner they become instruments of the Devil to the blemishing of the Church. Second, the forgiving of the Ministers in duties that must be embraced with complete enthusiasm and dedication and the unrestrained manner of speaking in propaganda and worship [service] that gives offense to and degrades the Church. The lack of Spiritual life and lack of dedication to progress to respond to the requirement of the duty one holds the same which gives him exasperation and disappointment, as though being a minister is an employment or livelihood, the presumption according to form and movement seen in ministers, and the lack of trust and confidence in what God can do.

“Third, the lack of care of the Deacons in handling duty and the lack of respect to duty and to [the] faith, in the way that they get angry with each other that leads their resentment to hatred and the lack of concern in maintaining good relationship in all of the brethren inside the Church.

“Fourth, the frequent ruining of the money collected for the construction of chapels or for buying lands in the hands of the [overseers] in different locations and the lack of faithfulness in collecting money the brethren consecrated unto God, whether during Thursday, for the chapel, or for buying land. There is no evidence of the amount of money contributed and there is no name of the contributor and there is no date of when it was received and there are no certain and clear reports for the brethren regarding the inflow of the money and the expenses, such thing which blemishes the Church. And it brings sin and offense unto the brethren.

“Fifth, it is frequently being taught to all who have duties what ought to be done according to the will of God and with faithfulness. This is not being kept by the Ministers, by many Head Deacons and by Deacons, by the committees on the construction of chapels or buying of lands, by Treasurers, and even by the brethren who do not obey the ordinances of the Circular.

“All this mentioned above are the reasons of Brother Manalo in separating from us. But I and Brother Liloy are stopping him and we promised that we will inform the concerned and will ask them of their decision.

“Brethren-Ministers, Workers, Head Deacons, Deacons, Treasurers, or to all of you in the whole Church, I ask of you to make a letter, promising that you will keep and embrace all of the policies of the Church, to the fulfillment of all the will of God unto the salvation from crooked ways mentioned in this letter. As soon as possible send your letters to our Office, that we may remain in the calling of God given to us. And in the end, read Heb. 13:17, 19-22. After you read this letter, read these verses, and it shall be explained by the Teacher or Minister assigned to you. Obey what it says.

“Your brother in Christ,
(Sgd.) T. Santiago

Though Felix Manalo failed to disband his church due to the rising filthiness among the ministers assigned in different parts of the country, we may still say that the ministry of Mr. Manalo was indeed a failure, not only in the sense that he taught false doctrines, but in the sense that he failed to established a religious community that has a good Christian behavior and disciplined leadership. All that he had was a line of hypocrite ministers that cares not the flock but exploits them according to their own interests. Not surprising, because the Executive Minister himself failed to Christianized (by it real meaning) his own self.

Issue of Bombshell newspaper dated October 21,1954 featuring the so-called “angel”.

The moral problem among the INC’s ministers are not just existing during the time of Mr. Felix Manalo, in fact, the late Erano Manalo, the second overall minister, expressed his wailings before a ministerial meeting concerning the corrupted atmosphere of the ministers under his leadership. This phenomenon explains the meaning of what Christ said to his disciples.

Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. (Matthew 12:33)

The Secret of Felix Manalo’s Authority

According to the publication of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ)  in the Philippines,

(to view the original copy, click HERE )

After being graduated from the Church’s ministerial college (at the New Era University), a minister must receive the laying of hands by the Church Executive Minister as a sign that he was given the authority to lead the congregation in public worship. A common Church member calls it “ordination”. So, if you happen to be a member of the Church choir and you are among those selected to sing during the ordination of the ministers in the Church Central Temple, then you will have a “privilege” to see the Executive Minister officiating the laying of hands. (I say “privilege” because seeing the Executive Minister of the Church is a very rare moment to the life of an ordinary member).

Before his death on August 31, 2009, Mr. Erano Manalo (the then Executive Minister) officiates the Church’s practice of ordination. Eraño was the fifth child of Felix Manalo and Honorata de Guzman. His name came from a reversal and elision of the term “New Era,” which his father used to describe what he felt was “a new Christian era” as the Iglesia ni Cristo was established. On the 10th of May 1947, Erano received the ordination of his father, making him as the new overall minister of his Church. And following Eraño’s passing, his son Eduardo then assumed the role of INC’s Executive Minister by the virtue of the same practice. But the question is, from whom did Felix Manalo, the fist Executive Minister, received his ordination? Actually, the issue about the ordination of the so-called Messenger (that was Felix Manalo), is an unheard thing within the Church. No one knows, except maybe those historians of their Church, the true story of Manalo’s ordination. And this will be the question we will try to answer.

The practice of ordination by laying of hands is a very sacred ceremony of the Church, and it was the reason why the Executive Minister is the only one who perform this duty. According to their publication;

Issue of Pasugo, dated March 1939, page 17

The highlighted part says, ” …only those elected by God by means of prophecy or direct calling can lay hands.” This is the belief of Felix Manalo, published in their official magazine. So if anyone laid hands on Felix Manalo, he must have been elected by God by means of prophecy or direct calling, according to Pasugo. Now, the question is – who performed the laying of hands to Felix Manalo, those ones, which according to the Church publication, are chosen by God to lay hands as Moses did to Joshua. This was the answer…

(unedited copy of “paanyaya”)

This document is an invitation to an event held by the Iglesia ni Kristo which includes the programme. An excerpt of the introductory part on the left page translates in English as: “Gentlemen: We cordially invite your majesty to the celebration concerning the THANKSGIVING due to the FIFTH YEAR LIFE of “IGLESIA NI KRISTO in the Philippines and the LAYING OF HANDS on brother Felix Manalo in the duty of Pastor and Administrator of the Church.” What was to take place in the event? “…the LAYING OF HANDS on brother Felix Manalo in the duty of Pastor and Administrator of the Church.” So someone laid hands on Felix Manalo. It was a secret fact that someone laid hand on the Church’s “Messenger”. Who are they? At the right part of the invitation, it says,

The statement above translated as;

Here’s the translation:

“7. The laying of hands on brother Felix Manalo will be officiated by Bishops and Pastors of different Churches established in the Archipelago, of whom are the Reverend Alejandro Reyes, Victoriano Mariano, Gil Domingo, Guillermo Zarco, Nicolas Fajardo, Emiliano Quijano and Roque Bautista.”

You know what readers? The reason behind the secrecy of Felix Manalo’s ordination is that those people who laid their hands to him to make him as the Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo are those leaders of different religions in the Philippines. But this was not the  gravest part of this secret. Because although Felix Manalo received his ordination from the hands of those ministers and bishop of the other religions in the archipelago, the Church had a certain belief regarding those religious groups outside of their denomination, particularly the Catholic Church and the Protestant denominations. According to the issue of Pasugo (INC’s official publication), dated August 1961, p. 39;

The underlined statement at the very right part states;

“At the end of this publication, we now ought to reject the catholic priests and the protestant pastors, for they are ministers of satan. We also ought to reject the Catholic Church and the different protestant churches, for they are not of God, but of satan or the devil. Rejecting them and their erroneous doctrines is your obedience to God, to Christ and to the Apostles.”

See friends? The mystery behind the secrecy of Felix Manalo’s ordination was that those who performed his ordination and gave him the office of being the Head and the Leader of the Iglesia Ni Cristo in the Philippines are, according to their official statement, ministers of devil… of Satan. It was a very famous belief within the common INC members that salvation is only given to them, that except of being a member of their organization, man will never ever attain the favor of God nor he have the right to worship God. That was the reason why they regarded those outsiders as of devil. But they were untold that the one whom they attributed the highest honor of their Church is a devil’s ordained minister himself.

The Purpose of Life

If there is  a question that I may regard as the most beautiful question that I have heard, that would be this – WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF

LIFE? If we are referring about life on earth, I will say that there are two lives mentioned in the Bible. The first is the temporary life that we have on this earth and the next is the everlasting life that will be given after the Resurrection. Concerning to the question, the best answer that we can find was written in the book of Ecclesiastes, where it says,

 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

The Bible said, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter.” That denotes the conclusion of everything that exist, everything we do, everything we enjoy in this life, everything that we have, every resources that God given to us, the conclusion is this – that we have to fear God and keep his commandments for it is the whole duty of man. There is no other reason of having in this life but to acknowledge our God, after all, He is our Maker, He is our provider, and He is our judge. The most important thing is to acknowledge the existence of the Great Creator who have created us and to do His will so that we will enjoy the eternal life after the Resurrection.  Actually, life is worthless if we just have every riches in this world and then later on we cannot bring them in grave. Let us say that you have 50 million hectares of land and your land titles are taller than you when they are accumulated, but in the end one square meter will be only left to you. What are you going to do with acres upon acres or hectares upon hectares of land that you have accumulated and the vast wealth that you have accumulated for yourself through rightful or wrong way of acquiring them, if in the end it will prejudice your salvation, your knowledge and your belief in God? A person who have everything in this world feels that he doesn’t need anymore or the services of other people, and most of the time he feels he doesn’t need God anymore for he feels that he was very much stable compared to the poor who always pray to God just for a breakfast as his only hope is his belief in God. Minus God then everything is in vain. Without God life is nothing. Many questions will be left unanswered. But if we have God in our lives, then everything will be solved in His coming judgement.
